# The Cruisery

> Dog-friendly bar and restaurant at 501 State Street in downtown Santa Barbara, California. Known for craft cocktails, tasty bar food, $1 oyster happy hour, live music Fridays, weekly DJs, weekend brunch, and complimentary fresh-baked dog treats. The Unbearable Skee Lodge is our fun step-sister venue out back — open to the public with vintage games, a full bar, and private event buyouts for up to 200 guests.

## About

The Cruisery was founded by Aron Ashland and opened on December 5, 2018 at 501 State Street in Santa Barbara — the former home of the Santa Barbara Brewing Company, the oldest continuously operating brewery in Santa Barbara. Aron originally opened a wine bar so he could bring his dog Tucker to work without choosing between his job and his dog. That idea grew into The Cruisery: a full bar and restaurant built around great cocktails, good food, vintage table games, and a genuinely dog-friendly environment.

Tucker passed away in April 2023. The complimentary dog treats The Cruisery bakes in-house every day are part of his legacy. We give them away free because we never want someone to leave their dog at home over the cost of a biscuit — and honestly, because we just love the dogs.

- $1 oysters during happy hour starting at 5pm, Sunday through Friday (except Tuesday — closed)
- Happy hour Sunday through Friday 3–7pm, featuring discounted cocktails, tapas, and margarita flights
- Weekend brunch Saturday and Sunday from 11am, including $5 Early Birdie cocktails before noon
- Live music Friday nights
- DJs Thursday and Saturday nights
- Complimentary fresh-baked dog treats daily, dog menu, dog highchairs, and dog birthday celebrations

## Capacity

The Cruisery seats 150 guests inside and 25 on the front patio, for a total of 175.

## The Unbearable Skee Lodge (Our Sister Venue)

The Unbearable Skee Lodge is The Cruisery's fun step-sister venue out back at 501 State Street. It is open to the public and dog-friendly. It features vintage Skee-Ball, shuffleboard, ping pong, Connect 4, Giant Jenga, a photo booth, and a full bar. Capacity: up to 200 guests.

The Unbearable Skee Lodge is also available for private event buyouts — bachelorette parties, corporate events, staff outings, wedding welcome parties, birthday parties, and holiday events.
